Awards recognise Bahrain Bay
AND THE NOMINATIONS ARE…
BAHRAIN BAY
We are delighted to announce that our achievements have been recognised at the highly competitive and prestigious Construction Week Awards in Dubai.
The 5th Annual Construction Week Awards ceremony took place in Dubai on November 4th. And Bahrain Bay featured significantly, with two nominations.
One of the leading industry events in the GCC, The Construction Week awards recognises best practice across several sectors including construction, planning and design, project management, corporate and social responsibility, architecture and engineering.
There were more than 100 contenders in the main categories, which were then short-listed to just 4-5 nominations.
We were nominated for ‘Developer of the Year’ alongside Majid Al Futtaim for Sohar City in Doha, TDIC for Abu Dhabi Saadiyat Island and Aldar for Yas Island.
Submissions for this award were open to GCC developers in the construction of commercial, residential, industrial, public or mixed-use projects, and the judges were asked to focus on build quality, aesthetics, timely delivery, intelligent planning and sustainable initiatives.
The winner of this category was Aldar for The Yas Island project, but when you examine the scale and significance of the competing short list, this was a great achievement for us.
We were also nominated in the final and most coveted of all the evening’s awards – the ‘Supreme Judges Award’ which was in effect a champion of champions. For this award, the judges were asked to decide which of all the short-listed nominees in all categories rated most highly across the board in meeting a number of credentials including innovation for the industry.
The Supreme Judges Award went to Woods Bagot for Qatar’s Science and Technology Park, with Bahrain Bay specifically nominated as the runner up in the award. It was a fine way to cap off a memorable evening for Bahrain Bay, which proved that despite being in our formative years, we are already being recognised by the industry for our vision, commitment and ability to deliver.
