National Day
Background
Our latest billboard honours National Day and celebrates Bahrain's future.
Bahrain got its independence from British imperialism on the 16th of December, 1971. This happy event is celebrated every year as the Kingdoms National Day. Previously a one-day holiday only, celebrated on 16 December, National Day was extended to a two-day holiday in 1999 courtesy of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The 16th and the 17th of December are celebrated by the Bahraini people across the country.
The thought behind the design
The billboard design is clean and striking to demonstrate pride and a modern focus. The progressive modernity of Bahrain Bay and the progression of Bahrain itself. The young girl’s face is painted with the Bahrain flag in celebration of Bahrain. The red fresh flower behind her ear echoes Bahrain’s national colours and the girl’s youth and vibrancy.
The girl celebrates Bahrain’s community and its family orientation. She represents Bahrain’s future. She looks up and across Manama with calm confidence.
